Web Design Credentials

My credentials, as far as what's on paper, are a Bachelor of Fine Arts magna cum laude from Florida Atlantic University Class of '99 and several Microsoft Certifications.

But pretty pictures and flashy animations are only the front-end of the story. The web-development side of this business is equally fascinating, and it has been my good fortune to work with true coders. ASP.NET, C#, PHP, Javascript, SQL…with guidance from various hackers and database gurus (and a lot of reading!) I have been able to delve into the arcane underbelly of web development and programming.

I also enjoy the hardware and server-side of things; after mining salt at several design firms I was offered a plum job at a national magazine as their webmaster and system administrator. At the final interview I was guided to a server closet inhabited by two monstrous Dells, and asked if I were able to operate said machines. "Of course," I said brightly. Three weeks later I had my first Microsoft Certification. Others have followed, but that first one will always be…memorable.
